Photo Blog from the official opening of Hydrogenfabrikken Kunsthall and Fredrikstad Independent Art Fair WHAT A MESS!, that took place Friday 24th August 2012 in Fredrikstad (100 km south of Oslo), Norway.
Hydrogenfabrikken Kunsthall consists of studios, workshops and offices housing around 60 professional artists and creative businesses in addition to a 518 square meter big exhibition hall. The project is supported by the Art Council of Norway, Østfold County, Fredrikstad Town Council and Øra Næring.
Fredrikstad Independent Art Fair “WHAT A MESS!” is the first independent art fair in Norway. The fair became a success with around 2500 visitors during the weekend 24th – 26th August 2012. The fair presented Nordic artist-run galleries and projects, similar to Stockholm Independent Art Fair Supermarket in Sweden. This years “WHAT A MESS” presented thirty galleries from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, in addition to lectures, performances and debates.
