Utstillingen David Lynch – The Air is on fire ble laget på initiativ fra Fondation Cartier pour L’art contemporain i Paris, hvor den også ble vist første gang i 2007. Etter Paris ble utstillingen vist i Milano og Moskva før den kom til København hvor den stod fra 26.09.10 – 16.01.11 i Kunsthallen GL STRAND.
GL STRAND hadde også ansvaret for kurateringen i København. Den omfatter også to verker som ble laget spesielt for utstillingen i Danmark og består av malerier, tegninger, akvareller, litografier, foto, film, samt skulptur- og lydinstallasjoner. Alle bildene er tatt fra utstillingen på GL STRAND av Trine Otte Bak Nielsen.
